What is Alpha & Alpha in the Workplace?
A practical introduction to the Christian faith, primarily designed for non-Christians, non-churchgoers and those who have recently made decisions to follow Jesus. It is an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to explore the meaning of life in a safe, fun & non-threatening atmosphere. The Alpha in the Workplace course is more specifically designed to run in the marketplace and to serve men and women in business, in a much less intimate setting such as a church or one's home.
What does an Alpha meeting look like?
A seeker-friendly gathering that is always built around a meal, modeling a host and guest relationship, rather than a teacher and student relationship. During each of the fifteen sessions the group watches a video/DVD on a subject central to the Christian faith. Following the talk, the guests have the opportunity to discuss what has been presented and to explore their responses in an open and non-judgmental forum. Participants also spend a weekend or day away together in the middle of the course focusing on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
In workplace settings, sessions are run over breakfast, lunch or early evening and the video, as well as the follow up discussion, are half the time due to workplace time constraints.
What are the topics discussed during these 15 sessions?
Christianity: Boring, untrue, and irrelevant
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
How can I be sure of my faith?
Why and how should I read my Bible?
Why and how should I pray?
How does God guide us?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
What does the Holy Spirit do?

How are CBMC International & Alpha in the Workplace working together?
Alpha in the Workplace will act as a bridge to the one-on-one discipleship that takes place within local CBMC members. The Alpha in the Workplace course will also serve as a compliment to the traditional or current CBMC outreaches and other evangelism tools.
